Tuesday, December 14, 2010
Guatemalan coffee farmers are cashing in by sending a large part of their harvest at prices of some $200 per quintal.
The contract for immediate delivery closed yesterday on New York at $217.20 per quintal, its highest level since 1998.
Guatemalan traders say that 70 percent the 10,000 quintals they already have sold went for $200 or as much as $235.
