Guatemalan government declares void exploration licenses for Tikal Minerals

The Guatemalan government has declared void the exploration permits of Tikal Minerals that were granted in 2009.

Prospection efforts for iron on Pacific Coast beaches caused protests by local residents, and the government complained that the company observed to fulfill the rules on its licenses.

Tikal Minerals is a unit of Australia’s Maya Iron Corp.
