Guatemalan law slashes flow of dirty dollars

Thursday, March 17, 2011

Cash transactions by banks in Guatemala were slashed by 21 percent in December and January.

The reduction was the result of a new law against money laundering.

The new law restricts cash transactions to $3,000 a month per person or company.
