Guatemalan remittances surge to $655 million in the first two months of the year

Guatemala received $655 million in remittances during January and February this year, the Central Bank of Guatemala (Banguat) reported.

The figure shows an 11.4 percent growth compared to the same period of 2010.

The amount reflects the economic recovery of the United States, said the president of Banguat, Julio Suárez.
