Guatemalans find rust-resistant coffee

A group of coffee growers in Guatemala have given the sector new hope after discovering a plant resistant to the destructive coffee rust fungus.

The plant was found in a farm called Majadas del Tesoro, some 238 kilometers from central Guatemala.

The new plant is very strong and produces almost a pound of coffee beans for each branch, said Francisco Manchamé, owner of the farm.
