High hopes for mobile banking in Honduras

The mobile banking sector is starting to generate interest from banks and telecoms companies in Honduras.

In order to develop the relatively new sector in the country, and take advantage of the 85 percent cellular phone penetration, telecoms authorities organized a forum in the capital of Guatemala.

The event gathered industry experts from Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Honduras and Guatemala, to discuss ways to develop it from the public and private sectors' perspectives.
