Hitachi and Mitsubishi tipped for Panama monorail

The Panama Metro has signed a memorandum of understanding with three Japanese companies, Hitachi, its Ansaldo subsidiary and Mitsubishi to supply a 27-kilometer monorail system, with 14 stations, for Line 3 of the Panama Metro.

The leading contractor, which has yet to be appointed, will be in charge of the civil engineering of the project.

The Japanese cooperation agency Jica, has signed a $266 million loan for Line Three.
