Holiday shift could boost Costa Rica tourism

Costa Rican tourism would be boosted if the Government changed all national holidays to Fridays, Costa Rican newspaper La República reported.
Long weekends would raise hotel occupation rates by 30 percent, as proven during former President Abel Pacheco's time in office.
It would be a welcome move by industry leaders, who have said they see a difficult year ahead, with staff redundancies and low investment.
