Honduran carbon emissions project is evaluating EDF contract termination

Monday, April 18, 2011

An emissions-cutting project in Honduras is evaluating Electricite de France’s termination of a contract to buy carbon credits.

EDF terminated last week its involvement with the Aguan biogas project in Central America, after an environmental lobby alleged that the facility’s owner committed human rights abuses.

The project is owned by Exportadora del Atlantico, a unit of Grupo Dinant.
