Tuesday, September 3, 2013

Coffee exports from Honduras, Central America's top producer, plunged 62 percent in August from the same month last year, the country's national coffee institute said.

The reason for the plunge was damage caused to crops by the coffee rust fungus plague which has also damaged other countries int eh region.

Honduras exported 149,434 60-kilogram bags in the perdiod, down from 393,010 bags in the same month last year.
