Honduran private sector urges less tax pressure

Representatives of the Honduran private sector urged the government to stop creating new taxes.

The country's private sector also asked for better control on public spending during a meeting with the International Monetary Fund to discuss solutions to the country's economic situation.

"We must reactivate the economy. Honduras has had too many new tax reforms with little or no consequence, that's why the government must ease tax pressure," said Miguel Mourra, president of the Tegucigalpa trade chamber.
