Honduras adopts Japanese digital TV standard

Honduras has decided to adopt Japan's digital terrestrial television standard, the Japanese telecom ministry said.

Honduras is the 15th foreign country to introduce the Japanese standard, one of four competing variants of digital terrestrial broadcasting technology in the world.

Honduras decided in 2007 to adopt the U.S. standard but had been reviewing the decision as other Latin American countries have adopted the Japanese standard.
