Honduras aims for record high in coffee production

Honduras could hit a record high in coffee production for the 2012-2013 harvest, the country's coffee institute, Ihcafé, reported.

The institute expects a harvest of some 7.8 million quintals, which would generate sales of about $1.5 billion.

Germany buys 30 percent of the country's total production, and is Europe's main buyer, while Japan, Korea and Taiwan are emerging as strong markets for Honduran coffee.
