Honduras construction to focus on housing
Wednesday, August 27, 2014
Honduras's construction sector will focus on cheap housing as a strategy to secure long-term growth for the sector.
The industry dropped 7.4 percent in the first half of the year, compared with the same period last year, as well as reporting a 10 percent drop in residential and commercial projects, the Honduran central bank said.
Investors are feeling the effects of a new public finance law aimed at tackling tax evasion, said Silvio Larios, general director of the Honduran construction chamber.
