Honduras contracted 1.2 GW of renewables

Honduras' state-owned utility Empresa Nacional de Energía Eléctrica said it had signed 60 new contracts for clean energy of a total 1,251 MW last year.

The package includes 21 solar energy contracts for 619 MW, 32 contracts for hydro projects of 385 MW and two contracts with wind power developers for 152.5 MW. The remainder represents new geothermal and biomass projects.
