Honduras inflation seen reaching 7 percent

Wednesday, August 20, 2014

Agricultural losses due to drought could push the country's inflation rate to 7 percent by the end of the year, according to analysts.

Year-on-year inflation reached 6.2 percent in the first six months of this year, 0.9 percent more than the same period last year, the central bank said.

As well as weather effects, the country's finances have also been hit by a new law aimed at tackling fiscal evasion and changing exemption rules.
