Honduras invests in wind to boost electricity

The Honduran government signed an agreement with Mesoamerica Energy to increase the generation of wind energy in the country.

The agreement will expand Mesoamerica Energy's Cerro de Hula wind farm by adding 12 new turbines, allowing production to increase by an additional 24 megawatts to its current 103 megawatt production.

The expansion will cost $63 million, and comes after a group of Honduran business leaders pointed out the increasing demand for electricity in the country.
