Honduras moves forward with Dry Canal plans

The Honduran government signed a contract for a credit worth $120 million for the construction of a highway that will connect the country's Atlantic and Pacific coasts.

The highway, known as the Dry Canal, will help make the port of Cortés one of the most important in Central America, Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández said.

The highway will be 391 kilometers long, and will create some 1,200 jobs during its construction, the President added.
