Honduras seeks IMF accord by second half of the year

The Honduran government is seeking to establish an economic program with the International Monetary Fund by the second half of this year.

For President Juan Orlando Hernández's government, an accord with the Fund is important because it will give Honduras access to preferential resources for its programs and projects.

But the approval of an accord will depend in a series of measures and reforms the Honduran government must first pass.
