Honduras sees potential with organic cocoa

Experts in Tegucigalpa said Honduras must cultivate more organic cocoa as demand for the product grows around the world.

"Honduras has one of the best cocoa prices in Latin America, but local farmers need to produce more in order to cover international demand," said Alberto Chinchilla, director of the Central American indigenous agricultural association.

With the help of World Bank funding, Honduras will soon be producing 14,000 quintals of cocoa, part of which has already been bought by a Swiss firm.
