Honduras sees remittances boom from U.S.

Honduras is expecting a boost in remittances this year after the U.S. announced an increase to the minimum wage in 120 cities.

Remittances to Honduras are expected to total $3.2 billion this year, according to central bank forecasts.

About 88 percent of Honduran immigrants go to the U.S., particularly to Illinois, California, Texas, Florida and New York.
