Honduras to boost African palm oil industry

Honduran president-elect Juan Orlando Hernández said his administration will work to boost the country's African palm industry.

"We want to modernize oil farmers' production plants," Alden Rivera, member of the government transition committee, said.

Honduras currently has 135,000 hectares dedicated to African palm growing, and the new government's goal is to expand that by 125,000 hectares, bringing it to a total of 260,000.
