Honduras unveils new hydro plant with World Bank

Wednesday, May 8, 2013

A new hydropower plant in Honduras, by Compañía Hondureña de Energía Renovable and funded by the World Bank Group, will help provide power to roughly two million homes in the country.

Known as the La Vegona hydropower plant, the structure is designed to promote clean energy and help the country meet its growing power needs.

The plant will also help to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of Honduran exporters by supplying lower-cost energy from a clean source.
