Honduras wants to diversify fresh fruit exports

Tuesday, May 28, 2013

Honduras had an agricultural production surplus of more than $800 million in 2012.

"The sweet potato is doing well in Europe, the banana export has gradually increased and the melon has acquired an important position," says Jacobo Regalado, minister of agriculture.

He added that he would like the economy to consider new products in a bid to diversify export.
