Honduras wants trade relations with Beijing

The President of Honduras, Profirio Lobo, announced his country would like to start trade relations with China.

Since Honduras has diplomatic ties with Taiwan, which Chine considers a rogue state, the Taiwanese government expressed concern over the statement.

The Taiwanese viceminister of Foreign Relations, Simon S. Y. Ko, stated "Our country does not want to see Honduras open a trade office in Continental China".
