IMF to begin economic evaluation of Honduras

Wednesday, March 26, 2014

An International Monetary Fund technical mission has begun an evaluation of Honduras' macroeconomic situation, whose results may allow the country to have a future agreement to access funds.

The team will held meetings with public and private sectors' representatives for two weeks, according to the agreement reached last week in Washington by the IMF and officials from the Honduran government.

In Washington, both parties agreed on evaluating the country's macroeconomic situation and then starting negotiations for the signing of a Letter of Intent.
