Immigration reform could cost billions, says Heritage

The immigration reform proposed by Barack Obama could cost US taxpayers some $6.3 billion in the long term, according to the conservative Heritage Foundation.

The aim of the reform is to give permanent residency to 11 million illegal immigrants currently living in the United States.

Heritage claims that once the reform is in place, the immigrants would receive some $9.4 billion in benefits and social programs.
