Monday, May 14, 2018

International Container Terminal Services is set to inaugurate a $150 million dock, which will let Puerto Cortés receive ships up to 330 meters, compared to a current limit of 220 meters.

Located on the Caribbean coast, 50 kilometers from San Pedro Sula, Cortés is Honduras’ main port.

Based in Manila, International Container Terminal Services is one of the world’s top five maritime terminal operators, according to Asian Development Bank.

International Container in 2013 was awarded a 30-year a concession to develop and operate cargo terminals in Puerto Cortes.

The company, which operates in 30 countries, last year earned $207 million on revenue of $1.2 billion.

Its stock trades as IPC on the Philippines Exchange.

Operadora Portuaria Centroamericana, a subsidiary of International Container, runs the Honduran operation.
