Investment in Nicaragua halved

Tuesday, September 24, 2019

Foreign direct investment in Nicaragua fell by more than 53 percent in 2018 compared to the previous year, largely due to the socio-political tension triggered by a harsh crackdown on student protestors in the country.

According to data released by the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean , Nicaragua received barely $359 million in FDI during the year, Nearshore Americas reports.
