Japan reports $100 million in aid projects for Nicaragua, envoy says

In the last three years, Japan has financed some 140 public works, education and health projects in Nicaragua. The aid has come to $100 million said the ambassador, Shinchi Saito.

Among other projects, donation accords have backed the construction of the Santa Fe bridge on the San Juan river that bounds Nicaragua and Costa Rica.

Japan also financed a clean-energy project in the Nicaraguan pacific that includes a two-megawatt solar facility.
