Johnny Araya leaves Costa Rica presidential race

Costa Rican candidate Johnny Araya announced his retirement from the presidential race.

Araya, of the ruling National Liberation Party, said he took the decision after seeing public opinion polls results, where Costa Ricans showed a shift away from his party.

His decision leaves opposition candidate Luis Guillermo Solís, of the Partido Acción Ciudadana, as the only contender for the runoff election in April.
