Koreans in $500 million Nicaraguan port project

The government of Nicaragua signed a memorandum of understanding with two Korean companies to prepare the design and construction of a deep- water port in the Nicaraguan Caribbean.
 
The long-proposed port is to be located at Monkey Point on the Southern Atlantic Autonomous Region. Investment is reckoned at $500 million.
 
Korean companies Dongmyeong Engineering and la Ox Investment are expected to complete a feasibility study in eight months. Construction of the project would take two years.
