Kores to start copper trial mining in Panama with $178 million

Korea Resources Corp. (Korea), a state-run minerals developer, said Tuesday it expects the Cobre Panama project to start trial production of copper in the second half of this year.

Kores owns a 10 percent stake in the mining project with Canada’s First Quantum Minerals Ltd. holding the majority 90 percent.
