Lack of Internet could affect region

A lack of access to Internet could have a negative effect on Central America and the Caribbean's socioeconomics, said international expert Miguel Angel Alcaine during a forum in Dominican Republic.

Uruguay is the country with the best access to internet in the Americas, followed by the U.S., Canada and Chile, Alcaine said.

In Central America, Panama is one of the country's with the best connectivity, while countries such as Colombia and Nicaragua have improved their Internet access rates.
