LNG tankers to transit night and day along the Panama Canal

Friday, June 29, 2018

From October, the Panama Canal Authority will allow liquefied natural gas tankers to transit the waterway in both directions both night and day.

The lifting of restrictions at night was announced at a conference in New York by the deputy administrator of the canal, Manuel Benítez.

The measure will, in effect, increase the canal’s capacity.
