Major Costa Rican projects have ‘Made in China’ stamp

In 2007, when Costa Rica broke diplomatic relations with Taiwan in favor of mainland China, it opened the door to major investments.
Since then, major government projects have borne the “Made in China” stamp, whether through Chinese companies, donations, soft loans or huge public works contracts.
In addition, the administration of Laura Chinchilla is planning even more projects in conjunction with China.
