Mallon Oil given green light by Costa Rica's Supreme Court to develop oil and gas

Costa Rica's Supreme Court suspended the decree that Laura Chinchilla, the nation's president, barred development of hydrocarbons for three years.

The president will not be able to obtain an injunction to prevent US-based Mallon Oil to exploit oil and gas in northern Costa Rica and its Caribbean coast.

Mallon's claim is based on a contract that was signed in 2000.
