Martinelli assurance on Canal expansion

Ricardo Martinelli, the president of Panama, has given an assurance that the expansion of the Canal will be concluded satisfactorily.

"I can tell you for sure that the expansion will be concluded no matter whatever happens," he said.

Martinelli emphasized that the Panama Canal Authority is still in talks with the construction consortium Grupo Unidos pro el Canal. "There have been differences but I'm hopeful that they can teach an agreement," Martinelli added.
