Mexican brewer Modelo unveils $60 million plant

Grupo Modelo, the Mexican brewer whose Corona brand is one of the world's most popular, announced an additional $60 million production line at its malt plant in the northern state of Zacatecas.

Modelo said that the project will more than double the capacity of the plant which, the company claims the world's biggest plant of the brewing industry.

The plant will require the consumption of 200,000 metric tons of barley a year that local farmers can provide.
