Mexican cable TV companies to invest $800 million

Alejandro Puente, head of the group that represents most cable providers in Mexico, said the companies expect to invest around $800 million as they replace cable boxes and other equipment to keep up with changes in technology.
Last year, the providers invested about $500 million. Cable-TV penetration in Mexico is at about 40 percent versus about half that a decade ago, he added.
Puente said satellite providers might grow even faster than cable firms because they can reach people in areas that cable-TV providers may not be able to.
