Mexican growth gets slower and slower

Mexico, that most stable and reliable of emerging markets, may be sliding towards a credit rating downgrade.

The problem is the pernicious interplay between growth and debt. The government’s attempts to boost the first while cracking down on the second are more or less cancelling each other out, so it is failing to deliver on both fronts.
