Mexican hotel occupancy grows 6.7 percent

Hotel occupancy in Mexico grew by 6.7 percent in the first half of 2013 compared with the same period last year, Ministry of Tourism said.

The beach destinations that reported the largest increase in hotel occupancy were Nuevo Vallarta, Puerto Escondido, Cancun and the Mayan Riviera.

Last year, Mexico received 23 million international tourists and registered 178 million domestic tourists, while the sector generated revenues of more than $11 billion.
