Mexichem buys Germany's Vestolit

Mexican chemical company Mexichem announced the acquisition of Germany's Vestolit, Europe's sixth largest producer of PVC resin, for $292 million.

The operation is in line with Mexichem's growth strategy in specialty products with high added value, the company said in a statement.

The acquisition is subject to the approval of authorities, and is expected to conclude in the fourth quarter this year, the firm added.
