Mexico asks Argentina to think again on auto pact

Tuesday, June 26, 2012

Mexican officials urged Argentina to reconsider suspending an automobile trade agreement between the two countries.

Mexico's Economy Minister Bruno Ferrari said the Mexican government had received news of Argentina's intention to suspend the agreement Tuesday and said Mexico is prepared to take legal action against the country.

An Argentine Industry Ministry source confirmed the auto accord would be suspended until Mexico negotiates with Argentina under the same conditions as it negotiated its auto accord with Brazil.
