Mexico car exports grow 8.6 percent

Mexico's car exports grew 8.6 percent in the first quarter this year, compared to the same period in 2013.

But domestic car sales grew only 1.6 percent in the same period, according to the Mexican car distributors' association.

The domestic sales figure shows a 12.8 percent drop compared to January-March 2013, due mainly to a drop in consumer confidence.
