Mexico is region's most expensive for mining

Monday, June 16, 2014

The cost of extracting gold and silver in Mexico grew 13 and 20 percent, respectively, in the past year.

The increase in costs comes after the country passed a tax reform, as well as ongoing conflicts with landowners and less production in mining projects.

The cost makes Mexico the most expensive in Latin America in the mining industry.
