Mexico reverses the trend in foreign investment

Mexican companies invested some $25.6 billion in foreign companies last year, according to the central bank.

The figure is significantly higher than the $12.6 billion Mexico received in direct foreign investment.

The growth in Mexican investment was mainly due to Carlos Slim's investments in European telecommunications.
