Mexico's América Móvil seeks to acquire rest of KPN

Mexico's América Móvil, billionaire Carlos Slim's telecoms company, made a $9 billion bid to acquire the rest of Dutch telecoms firm KPN it does not already own.
The offer challenges an $11 billion offer by Spain's Telefónica last month to acquire KPN's German subsidiary E-Plus.
E-Plus is Germany's third largest telecoms company, behind T-Mobile and Vodafone, with some 19 million subscribers.
