Mexico's booming auto sector needs engineers

Friday, August 1, 2014

Mexico's booming auto industry has created more demand for specialized engineers.

However, the country is struggling to cover that demand, as most of engineering graduates fail to meet the expectations of companies such as Ford, General Motors or Nissan.

According to official data, Mexico has 24,819 engineers specialized in motor vehicles, ships and airplanes, of which 25 percent work as construction technicians, mechanics and industrial machine repairs.
