Mexico's Elementia considers IPO

Tuesday, September 23, 2014

Mexican building-materials company Elementia is considering a stock listing as it bolsters its cement business by buying French partner Lafarge's minority stake in joint-venture Cementos Fortaleza.

Elementia, which has business lines in copper and aluminum parts for industry, plastic parts, and materials for construction, has requested regulatory approval to sell shares on the Mexican stock exchange.

Chief executive Eduardo Musalem said that the company is studying market conditions and will decide in early October whether to go ahead with the initial public offering.
